Winter Skin Tone
“Winter” is one of the seasonal colour analysis categories used in fashion and beauty to determine which colours flatter an individual’s skin, hair, and eye colour.
Winter skin tones fall into the cool undertone category.
Winter Skin Tone Characteristics
- Undertones: Cool undertones dominate the winter palette. People with winter skin tones have blue or pink undertones.
- Skin Tone: A fair-skinned Winter may have a porcelain-like complexion and be prone to blushing. However, a darker, cool-toned skin tone will have a distinct blue or purple tinge.
- Hair Colour: Winter hair colours range from dark brown or black to ash blonde. Ashy tones without warm undertones are common.
- Eye Colour: Winter eyes are often deep and cool-toned. Shades of blue, grey, or green with cool undertones are standard.
- Veins: The veins inside your wrists will appear blue.
Inspiration
Clothing
Select cool and jewel-toned shades when choosing clothing colours for your winter skin tone. Flattering colours include deep blues, purples, emerald greens, and cool greys. Jewel tones like sapphire, amethyst, and ruby can look stunning.
Build your wardrobe around capsule colours such as black, white, navy, chocolate brown and grey.
A blue-based camel will also look great on you!
Makeup
For makeup, choose cool-toned foundations, berry, plum or pink lipsticks, and eyeshadows in shades like navy, charcoal, and brown to enhance your features.
Avoid warm-toned makeup, particularly colours like peach and apricot.
Jewellery and Accessories
Choose silver and platinum accessories over gold.
Remember that these are general guidelines, and personal preferences and style play a significant role. If you enjoy wearing a colour and feel confident in it, that matters most!
